I kid you not- overalls are having a moment. While this may conjure up memories of Michelle Tanner, or classic styles of Wisconsin dairy farmers, overalls have been updated and upgraded this Fall. Overalls have been featured on designer runways the past few seasons, and have recently emerged onto the retail and street style scenes. This mini trend has developed among those fashionistas daring enough to try the style (ie: Alexa Chung).
Here are some examples of overalls on the runway. From left to right: Charles Anastase, Chloe, Jean Paul Gaultier, L.A.M.B., Rachel Comey.
Here are some examples of overalls at the retail level from my favorite brand, Free People.
When you think about it, overalls really aren’t that different from rompers/jumpsuits. I say go for it. What do you think of this trend- Rad or bad?
