Has It Really Trickled Down? – by Madeline and Tory

From Runway to Retail-

Through studying and analyzing the fashion trends of past couture runway shows in Paris, it is easy to see direct correlation of how trend trickles down in the fashion cycle- from the highest end couture, to designer ready-to-wear, to bridge, and so on.

We’ve dissected the couture trends from the Paris runways from Fall 2011, Fall 2010, Fall 2008, and Fall 2006. We chose three major trends from each year mentioned, and five looks from each of these trends. These trends have had monumental impact on all levels of the fashion industry- from evening gowns worn by celebrities on the red carpet, to clothing styles carried throughout malls and shops worldwide.
